I need some essential information first before taking you to see the doctor. Please give me your full name and how many times you have had antenatal care since becoming pregnant.
Patient: My name is My Hanh, this is the first time I have had a prenatal check-up since I found out I was pregnant.
Midwife: So do you know how many weeks pregnant you are?
Patient: May be 12 weeks.
Midwife: OK, That enough, let’s follow me to see the Doctor. I’ll take a wheelchair if you have difficulty walking.
Patient: I walk normally, now I have nausea in the early morning.
Midwife: OK. Carefully.
Conversaton 2: Examination
Doctor: Have you been able to eat since pregnancy?
Patient: I eat well but often feel nauseous after eating.
Doctor: Nutrition during pregnancy is very important, so you need to get more nutrients from milk and vegetables. You are now in the 12th week of pregnancy, the fetus already has a heart, lungs and facial circulation although the shape has not yet formed.
